The Spanish playmaker will miss the trip to Greece for the Champions League tie…
Here’s the side we reckon David Moyes will put out in the Champions League against Olympiakos this Tuesday evening…
GK) David de Gea
The Spanish keeper will obviously start between the sticks barring a late injury.
DR) Chris Smalling
Rafael is doubtful, so Smalling will likely play on the right of the back four, meaning Rio Ferdinand can resume his duties in the centre after an impressive afternoon against Crystal Palace at the weekend.
DC) Nemanja Vidic
With Phil Jones and Jonny Evans injured, and Smalling expected to cover Rafael’s absence at right-back David Moyes has little choice but to partner Vidic and Ferdinand at the back.
DC) Rio Ferdinand
Ferdinand has lost his pace, but he was positionally excellent against Palace at the weekend, and has all the experience to step up to the plate for a big Champions League occasion.
DL) Patrice Evra
The Frenchman is an ever present in United’s back four when fit, and after assisting two goals at the weekend, he’s bound to start once more.
