DC) Jonny Evans
Evans could partner Phil Jones in defence, as when paired together at the back, United haven’t lost a match this season. Nemanja Vidic is still out injured, and Evans is seen as a better option than Rio Ferdinand at this point in time.
DC) Phil Jones
Jones has been used in midfield, but favours a central defensive role. Against West Ham’s physical forward Modibo Maiga, Jones could be used in his best position, meaning Ryan Giggs can come in to the middle of the park.
DL) Patrice Evra
The French fullback scored a lovely goal against Stoke City in the League Cup quarters on Wednesday evening, and will continue to keep Dutchman Alex Buttner out of the side.
