Manchester United transfer news.
Strootman was previously sidelined for the best part of a year with a cruciate ligament problem and has only recently returned to the Roma first team following that issue.
Therefore another injury in the same area is a huge concern for both his current club and the Red Devils, who have been keeping a close eye on the 24-year-old as manager Louis van Gaal considers a bid.
Van Gaal knows Strootman well from their time spent working together with the Netherlands national team and the 63-year-old thinks the midfield ace could be the answer to his problems in the middle of the park.
However, this latest setback could see United turn their attentions elsewhere, although the player’s current boss Rudi Garcia is confident the injury won’t keep his star man out for too long.
