The 20-year-old is a terrific prospect and has already moved for big money in the past, and is the latest big-name linked with a move to Old Trafford.
United are still looking at slightly cheaper options in Mats Hummels, Diego Godin and Nicolas Otamendi, though Marquinhos’ potential availability has alerted Louis van Gaal.
Still, it remains to be seen if the Red Devils will be able or willing to cough up such a vast amount for a player so young.
