New arrival could allow United target to leave this summer.
Manchester United could be boosted in their pursuit of Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin with news that the club may now be ready to let him go, according to CaughtOffside.
United have been linked with the dynamic Colombian international on a number of occasions this summer, and it is now thought that Inter will be willing to negotiate his sale with the Red Devils after they secured the signing of a replacement in Gary Medel, who joined for £10m from Championship side Cardiff City.
The Chilean, who can play in defence or as a defensive midfielder, should provide Inter with enough cover in that area to persuade them to cash in on Guarin, who is known to be keen on an exit from the San Siro after almost joining Juventus back in January.
United are still prioritising a deal for Juve star Arturo Vidal, but may yet turn to Guarin as a decent alternative in that position, with the former Porto man likely to be far cheaper than his Chilean counterpart.
