Manchester United transfer news
As the Daily Mirror reports, Antonio Valencia has played on the right hand side of defence for much of the season, while Rafael is expected to leave at the end of the season.
However, United don’t fancy either Clyne or Alves, who have both regularly been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months. The Mirror believe that England international Clyne will instead sign a new contract at Southampton, while United sources have confirmed that they’re not interested in Alves.
There is no word yet on who Louis van Gaal is eyeing up as a possible alternative. Clyne, 24, was thought to be his preferred choice after impressing with his performances at St. Mary’s this season, but United look set to be disappointed.
The only person that’s likely to be smiling at this news, is Antonio Valencia!
