David Moyes ready to make bid for Barcelona midfielder in hope of beating Arsenal to the signing.
Manchester United manager David Moyes is prepared to enter a bidding war with Arsenal as they race to sign out of favour Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona, according to reports in The Sun.
The midfielder is struggling for first team appearances with the La Liga champions, and with the club signing Brazilian star Neymar last week, he will see his chances of regular first team action diminish even more.
The Sun also reports that Arsenal have first option to re-sign their former star, however it seems that Moyes is ready to go all out to bring the Spain international to Old Trafford for the start of next season.
The 26-year old is seen by Moyes as a major summer transfer target to strengthen a midfield that has been a cause for concern since Paul Scholes retired at the end of this season.
While Michael Carrick had a fine season as a defensive midfielder, the unit lacks depth in its creative and attacking options, with Shinji Kagawa and Tom Cleverley expected to carry the load at this present time.
The story has certainly made other newspapers take notice, with tweets from Daily Mirror journalist John Cross following below:
Interesting The Sun have finally jumped aboard the Cesc Fabregas to Manchester United story. He’s a former columnist. It’s ‘his’ paper.

A few have already done the Cesc, Arsenal and Manchester United story. Arsenal 100 per cent have a buy back first option.
