Barcelona winger emerges as top transfer target for United…
Manchester United are plotting a £20 million move for Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez, reports the Express.
United’s new boss Louis Van Gaal is known to be a big fan of speedy wingers, and the Chilean is now on his wish list after Barcelona’s new boss Luis Enrique has deemed the 25-year old as surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou.
Van Gaal reckons that a £20 million offer could be enough to land to Sanchez by beating competition from the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham, who too have made signing the former Udinese man a priority. Manchester United’s arch rivals Liverpool, in particular, are said to be one of the favourites to land Sanchez as they can now offer Champions League football to the versatile forward.
Sanchez scored just 47 goals in 141 games for Barcelona since his high profile move to the Camp Nou in 2011, and is considered a bit of a flop at the Spanish giants given the hype surrounding his transfer 3 years ago.
