Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has identified six first-team players he plans to offload before the end of the summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The Dutchman has had some time to work with his squad in pre-season, and has decided on several big names that don’t feature in his plans for the new season, as he hopes to raise around £67m in transfer funds after targeting big names such as Arturo Vidal, Angel Di Maria and Juan Cuadrado.
It has now emerged that six players could leave imminently, with plenty of interest in some of United’s squad members giving the club hope that they will be able to get rid of all of them.
6) Marouane Fellaini
The bulky Belgian midfielder had something of a nightmare at United last season following his £27.5m move from Everton. Marouane Fellaini was once regarded as one of the best midfield players in the Premier League but will now have to go down as a big-money flop as the Red Devils seek to get rid of him. Napoli are supposedly interested and he could still bring in around £20m if he does make the move to Serie A.
