The brilliant Bayern Munich winger is favourite to win this year’s Ballon D’or…
Manchester United’s French left-back Patrice Evra has begged his new boss David Moyes to go all out to sign Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery, reports HITC Sport.
The Red Devils have struggled this season under their new boss, and the introduction of a truly world-class operator may be just what Moyes needs to reinvigorate the side.
The Frenchman has been absolutely outstanding for Bayern over the past few seasons, culminating in the Bundesliga side winning the treble last season. He has started this season where he left the last under new boss Pep Guardiola, and is now favourite to win the Ballon D’or ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
“Franck is the best player in the world. It was unfair that he did not get the Ballon d’Or, it is a treat to see him play, when you play with him at the moment is a gift,” said Evra, who plays with Ribery in the French national team.
The fullback has admitted he would love Ribery to join him at Old Trafford, and thinks he could have the same effect as another legendary French attacker…
“Will I ask Moyes to recruit? I had already spoken with Ferguson. I want him to become the new Cantona,” Evra said.
The outspoken left-back admitted that he spoke to Ribery about joining United when he was still in France, but the winger chose to move to Bayern Munich instead.
“He has made his career at Bayern. I did everything for him to join me in Manchester, but it did not happen,” he added.
