The former Arsenal man had a few choice words for his team-mates.
Following the disappointing 2-0 loss to Olympiakos in the Champions League last-16 on Tuesday, Manchester United’s Robin van Persie criticised his team-mates.
The striker claimed that they were often in the areas of the pitch where he wanted to operate and therefore the Dutchman was having to change his tactics.
Like most of the United team van Persie was fairly poor against the Greek champions in the first-leg of their European tie, although the 30-year-old did have the Red Devils’ only shot on target.
However, the forward’s poor display and subsequent comments have caused a backlash on social media.
RVP last year “Im surrounded by Champions”. RVP this year “My Man Utd team-mates make it difficult for me”. Suffer.

RVP says his team mates get in his way. No those are called defenders, they were stopping you from scoring pic.twitter.com/CIh5hOLVhy

RVP has an agenda behind his words. If you’re happy you’d be silent. Little boy clearly having tantrums.

Anyone that thinks RVP actually gives a shit about Manchester United is very deluded. #MUFC

Van Persie has been linked with a return to the Emirates Stadium in recent times and with things between the forward and United seemingly tense, this notion is not so far-fetched.
