Januzaj is still eligible to play for the Three Lions.. along with five other nations.
The hero from Manchester United’s 1-2 win over Sunderland in the Premier League at the weekend was 18-year-old winger Adnan Januzaj.
The teenager netted a brace in the forward’s first ever league start for the club and helped United recover from 1-0 down to take the victory.
Januzaj has been at Old Trafford for two years since being signed from Belgian side Anderlecht and the nation called the attacker up to their latest squad – but were turned down.
However, England manager Roy Hodgson has already stated that the 66-year-old wants the youngster to pledge his future to the Three Lions.
Januzaj is in fact eligible to play for an incredible six different countries, with Albania, Kosovo, Serbia and Turkey also included.
As a refugee from Kosovo, it is the Balkan nation that the starlet really wants to represent, although currently they are not recognised by UEFA.
Similarly, with Januzaj’s fledgling career with the Red Devils so new, the winger would rather wait and establish a reputation at club level before committing anything internationally.
United are keen to tie up a new contract for the wonderkid, who’s current deal at the Theatre of Dreams expires at the end of this season.
Both Juventus and rivals Manchester City are looking to poach the young talent, with Juve having done a similar thing with midfielder Paul Pogba and City prepared to offer Januzaj £50,000-a-week.
