Serbian defender does not want to quit Old Trafford.
Speculation linking Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic with a switch to AC Milan has been labelled as “pub talk” by his agent.
Silvano Martina has addressed rumours of the United skipper wanting to quit Old Trafford this summer, and has dismissed them entirely.
He claimed to have not heard about the reports previously, and moved to assure new boss David Moyes and the United fans that his client is not interested in an exit.
“We are talking with no-one. This is all pub talk.
“This is the first time I heard that news and I don’t know where it came from.
“We’re talking about the captain of Manchester United here, not just any player. Vidic has no problems with United – all the talk is hot air,” he told the Italian media as quoted by the Mirror.
This isn’t the first time that the 31-year-old has been linked with a switch to San Siro, but it appears as though his immediate future lies in England.
Vidic will likely play a key role next season as Moyes adjusts to life at the helm of United, while Milan will now seemingly have to avert their attention elsewhere if there is truth in the rumour.
The Rossoneri are looking to strengthen their central defensive options ahead of the new campaign, despite signing Cristian Zapata on a permanent deal from Villarreal.
Vice-president Adriano Galliani has insisted that players must first leave the club before they can buy, but it doesn’t appear as though Vidic is on their list as no enquiries have been made according to his agent.
