Mendes is regarded as the first so-called super-agent in football having overseen huge transfers including Cristiano Ronaldo’s then world record £80m switch to Los Blancos in 2009.
Now the Portuguese representative of de Gea has refused to rule out a move to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu for the Red Devils stopper.
“He’s a Man United player and has a contract there. You have to respect that but things change every five minutes,” Mendes was quoted by CaughtOffside.
De Gea has been widely regarded as United’s best player over the past two seasons and Madrid view the 24-year-old as the ideal long-term replacement for aging captain Iker Casillas.
