Manchester United have moved ahead of Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea in the pursuit of Real Madrid superstar Sami Khedira, reports the Star.
The 27-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, and will be available on for a heavily reduced fee in January, or a Bosman free next summer.
United are in the market for a battling midfielder, and think Khedira is the perfect, affordable player to target.
He will provide tenacity, technical ability and a wealth of experience – having already won the Champions League with Real Madrid and the World Cup with Germany in 2014.
