Javier Hernandez could become Juventus’ new target should they not land Gonzalo Higuain.
Serie A champions Juventus could make a move for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, after talks to sign Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain stalled.
Juventus are said to have already enquired about the availability of the Mexican poacher, and could be set to make a formal offer as early as next week, according to the Daily Star.
Manchester United however have reportedly answered Juve’s queries with a defiant no, telling the Scudetto winners that the 24-year old is not for sale this summer.
With the Premier League champions still weighing up their options with what to do with wantaway striker Wayne Rooney this summer, it seems unlikely that the Old Trafford hierarchy will allow another striker walk out the door until the Rooney situation is resolved.
Despite finding himself behind Rooney, Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck in the pecking order at Old Trafford, Hernandez was still able to grab ten goals this season, primarily off the bench, and it is this production that is likely to keep him in David Moyes’ squad for the immediate future.
