Chelsea & Man United compete to sign Atletico Madrid rock
Mirror Online claim the Colombian is looking to stay in the Premier League, despite his failed spell at Old Trafford, and is targeting a club in London.
Considering Jorge Mendes is Falcao’s agent, it would suggest he has an upper hand in at least attempting to convince Jose Mourinho it might be worth his while, and the Mirror go so far as the suggest that the striker’s camp have already sounded out the west London club over a move.
But in order to convince the Stamford Bridge outfit it might be worth their while, Falcao has made it clear he is willing to reduce his gargantuan £265,000-a-week pay packet, which could help Chelsea in terms of Financial Fair Play regulations.
Valencia and Liverpool have also shown an interest in signing the forward this summer, Tottenham are also keen though are reluctant to pay his eye-watering wages.
It sounds like a less than ideal move for any club, but it could prove to be just the kind of transfer the Blues would want given Didier Drogba will not be in west London by the start of next season whilst Loic Remy hasn’t exactly proved the most able back-up to Diego Costa.
