Manchester United look set to join Liverpool in the chase for Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri, according to CaughtOffside.
The Red Devils have been linked with a number of wide players this summer, with Louis van Gaal keen to improve on the likes of the underperforming Nani, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia in that part of the pitch.
Shaqiri looks an exciting talent, but has struggled to establish himself as a regular since moving to Bayern from Swiss side FC Basel, though he remains one of the most highly regarded young talents in Europe.
Liverpool had been linked as the strongest contenders to sign him this summer, but talk of a possible £15m transfer to Anfield has cooled in recent times, with the Reds bringing in the likes of Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic in the attacking midfield department.
This could allow United to move for the 22-year-old as they look set to miss out on some of their other targets, with Angel Di Maria likely to join Paris Saint-Germain and Juan Cuadrado close to signing for Barcelona.
