According to reports, Ramos has already informed the club that he wants to leave this summer and has chosen Old Trafford as his preferred destination.
Although he still has two years remaining on his contract, it is believed that an offer of around £30m will be enough to prise him away from the Bernabeu.
However, his mother doesn’t believe that it will be that simple as ultimately he wants to stay in Madrid despite claims to the contrary in the media.
“Of course. Real Madrid above all,” Paqui Garcia told La Sexta, as reported by Sky Sports, when asked if her son wanted to stay with Los Blancos.
She was also asked about the possibility of Ramos leaving to join Manchester United, to which she responded: “No. I think not, let’s go…He wants Spain.”
It is unclear at this stage as to whether or not Ramos’ mother’s comments are indicative of his thoughts, but it certainly adds further intrigue to the transfer saga which is expected to rumble on in the weeks to come.
