Everton’s England man head and shoulders above the rest…
5) Steven Gerrard – Liverpool – 35 crosses
The Liverpool skipper is playing in a deeper, more conservative role this year, but he’s still managed to deliver 35 balls into the box with his brilliant right foot, although none of them have led to a goal yet.
4) Matt Jarvis – West Ham – 37 crosses
Sam Allardyce has based his West Ham team on powerful, direct football, based on long balls into the box, and peppering the opposition with crosses. Jarvis is clearly obeying his manager’s instructions, and has knocked in 37 balls for the Hammers already this term.
3) James Ward-Prowse – Southampton – 43 crosses
The England Under-21 international has played in every Premier League match for the Saints so far this season, and delivered 43 crosses in which his powerful front-line of Rickie Lambert and Pablo Osvaldo have tried to feed upon.
2) Robert Snodgrass – Norwich – 44 crosses
Snodgrass is a striker at heart, but since the arrival of Ricky Van Wolfswinkel and Gary Hooper, he’s had to content himself with a wide position. The Scottish international has sent 44 balls into the box, although only three of these have reached one of his own players!
1) Leighton Baines – Everton – 50 crosses
Down the left-flank, Baines is simply an irresistible force for Roberto Martinez’s new look dynamic Everton side. The England man has a wonderful left-foot, which sees him regularly overlap his winger and deliver balls into the box. Outstandingly, Baines has already sent 50 balls into the box, and scored two goals himself. A really fantastic player.
