Following the £37m deal for Spanish playmaker Juan Mata this January, Manchester United manager David Moyes will target Bayern Munich midfield ace Toni Kroos in the summer, the Metro reports.
Moyes has promised that Mata will not be the only world-class player arriving at Old Trafford in 2014, which has led many to speculate who will be the next big name arrival.
Kroos is a key part of the Bayern Munich side that cantered to an historic treble last season, and are still unbeaten in the Bundesliga this term under Pep Guardiola.
The 24-year-old is technically superb, and can play short simple passes or more ambitious diagonal balls too. He can also slide in attackers through on goal, or play clever slipped passes inside fullbacks to play in the wingers.
As well as this, he has a tremendous long shot, and is a threat from set-pieces too.
Moyes apparently went to watch Kroos play for Bayern against Borussia Monchengladbach, and will have been suitably impressed with what he saw. Kroos rarely ever gave the ball away, and was a composed influence in the middle of the park.
Whether Bayern will be at all interested in selling one of their best players is an entirely different issue, but the ambition from the club to try and bring in some of Europe’s finest players will undoubtedly please supporters.
