Fifth place Liverpool have been linked with both players as they seek out a potential replacement for Steven Gerrard. However, with United likely to have the lure of Champions League football on their side, they could instantly make themselves firm favourites for either signature.
According to the Daily Express, United’s hierarchy is eyeing up a £66m double swoop as they look to reinvent their midfield ahead of next season. With Roma also struggling to meet Financial Fair Play regulations, they’re likely to accept any such offer that meets their valuation.
Bosnian international Pjanic, 25, and Belgian international Nainggolan, 27, have both been in fine form so far this season, guiding their side to the verge of yet another Champions League qualification. They current sit second, four points ahead of fourth place Napoli.
