Free agent Victor Valdes is ready to sign permanently with Manchester United having trained with the club during his rehabilitation process, according to CaughtOffside.

The goalkeeper has been without a team since leaving FC Barcelona over the summer and has since been recovering from a cruciate ligament injury picked up earlier in 2014.
Liverpool were initially interested in the 32-year-old, but it now looks as if the Red Devils lead the chase for Valdes.
United manager Louis van Gaal is keen for a better backup to No.1 David de Gea, with the current duo of Ben Amos and Anders Lindegaard not deemed good enough by the Dutchman.
Van Gaal has a good relationship with Valdes having actually given the stopper his Barca debut back when the 63-year-old was in charge at the Nou Camp.
The Spaniard went onto achieve great success with his boyhood club, winning six La Liga titles, two Copa del Reys and three Champions League trophies.
