The Argentina international has scored nine goals in 28 appearances so far this season, and has impressed throughout for the Portuguese giants. With the Red Devils’ record signing Angel Di Maria finding it hard to play in the Premier League, the 24-year-old may be another option on the wing for manager Louis van Gaal.
Spurs, Zenit, and Liverpool are also interested as the former Atletico Madrid ace negotiates a new contract with SLB, with the player’s agent Agustin Jimenez thought to be trying to lower his current £43.1 million release clause.
With Salvio’s current deal running until 2017 it would still take a hefty fee to sign the midfielder – even if a new deal isn’t signed.
