Both the Citizens and Juve want to tempt Januzaj away from Old Trafford.
When Manchester United manager David Moyes needed a win most, it was 18-year-old winger Adnan Januzaj who popped up with a brace against Sunderland on Saturday.
Moyes had handed the youngster his first start in the Premier League and the Belgian repaid that faith with two goals, to take United to victory after going 1-0 down.
There is a lot of promise and excitement surrounding the teenager and as such, Juventus and Manchester City are trying to tempt Januzaj away from Old Trafford.
The starlet’s current deal with the English champions expires in the summer of 2014 and to convince the attacker to stay, the Red Devils will offer the player a new £50,000-a-week contract.
Juve have pulled a similar trick on United before, when they poached midfielder Paul Pogba from the youth ranks at the Theatre of Dreams.
The Frenchman has since gone onto become an integral part of the side at La Bianconeri and attributed a lack of first team football in England to leaving.
Moyes is maybe wanting to avoid the same mistake that predecessor Sir Alex Ferguson made with Pogba, by giving Januzaj playing time.
This is probably not something the forward would enjoy as much of at City, due to the abundance of talent already in the squad.
If Januzaj were to make the switch to the Etihad Stadium then he would be competing with Samir Nasri, David Silva and Jesus Navas for a place.
