Old Trafford chiefs view the Dutchman as dispensable to the squad, and are eager to get his £250,000 per-week wages off their bill, as they are keen to make changes up front.
The 31-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the 2015/16 season, but, according to the Daily Mail, the club are willing to pay half of his £10m loyalty bonus to allow the striker to leave at the end of the current campaign.
