The Red Devils are desperate to land the French international from the Spanish giants after learning that Gareth Bale does not want to move to the Premier League this summer.
Cristiano Ronaldo could aid United in the move, with the Daily Mail reporting that new Real manager Rafael Benitez plans to use him up front next season, meaning less playing time for Benzema.
