Italian international could be tempted by Lazio exit this summer.
Manchester United are reportedly tracking Napoli target Antonio Candreva as doubts emerge over a possible Lazio extension, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 26-year-old midfielder caught the eye of numerous clubs with his impressive performances at the Confederations Cup, excelling in a midfield role in Cesare Prandelli’s line-up.
Having helped Lazio to the Coppa Italia last season, it was expected that he would play a key role in the club’s future, however doubt has been cast over idea following his displays in Brazil.
As a result, Napoli are understood to be interested in signing the player, while Premier League champions Manchester United are reportedly tracking his situation.
Candreva is currently co-owned by Lazio and Udinese, therefore any club willing to sign him must negotiate with both clubs to buy him outright.
It is understood the midfielder is pushing for an improved contract from Lazio, as Gazzetta report he is likely to earn just €800,000 next season.
With the possibility of earning double that elsewhere, it is expected that Candreva will consider his options ahead of pre-season training, although Lazio are believed to be adamant that he will renew.
The Biancocelesti agreed a fixed price prior to last season with Udinese, and expect him to commit his future to the club. However, given the level of interest in him currently, it will be difficult to ignore the reports of interest from two big clubs.
Both Napoli and Manchester United have the additional appeal of Champions League football next season, but it remains to be seen whether Candreva is ready to quit the Italian capital, and if Lazio would consider a sale.
