Manchester United have been dealt a transfer blow in regards to their summer plans, after Juventus ace Arturo Vidal signed a bumper new deal with the Italian club, the Daily Mail reports.
The brilliant Chilean box-to-box midfielder has established himself as one of the very best in the business with the Old Lady, and claimed to be ‘the world’s best midfielder’ earlier in the season.
The 26-year-old has scored 16 goals in all competitions, and has been rewarded for his ludicrous form with a monster £200k per week contract, that will expire in 2018.
Vidal was reportedly one of United’s top summer transfer targets, as David Moyes is desperate to strengthen the central midfield – but it now appears the Juventus man may seem out of reach.
United will no doubt now turn their attention to other targets, with the likes of Michael Carrick, Ryan Giggs and Darren Fletcher arguably past their best, and Tom Cleverley receiving constant criticism for his below-par performances.
