The Italians are trying to bring Anderson to Serie A.
Fiorentina confirm that they are in talks with Manchester United to bring midfielder Anderson to Serie A on an initial loan deal, reports Football Italia.
The Brazil international has been strongly linked with a move to Italy and now sporting director Daniele Prade has revealed that negotiations are taking place.
“Yes, we are negotiating for Anderson, but at the same time we have other objectives too,” Prade told Sport Mediaset.
It’s thought that the club have the option of buying Anderson in the summer for a £4.1m, despite the fact the 25-year-old cost the Red Devils £20m in 2007.
Since arriving in the Premier League the South American has failed to really live up to expectations and the player’s contract at Old Trafford expires in 2015.
Viola head coach Vincenzo Montella has also confirmed the club’s bid for Anderson and is hoping the Brazilian makes the switch.
“He is certainly a very good midfielder. I prefer to seek experienced players at this point, seeing as we have promising youngsters in the squad already,” Montella was quoted by Football Italia.
Anderson has made 179 appearances for United in six-and-a-half years at the Theatre of Dreams, winning four league titles, two League Cups and the Champions League.
