The players that could be bought and those on their way in the summer.
Progression to the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday night was a small glimmer of hope for Manchester United in what has been a fairly woeful season to date.
Their performance in the Premier League means they are unlikely to qualify for the top tier of European football next term – unless they win it of course – and five home league defeats have been particularly disappointing.
When David Moyes succeeded Sir Alex Ferguson as manager everyone knew the transition period could be difficult and many are saying the 50-year-old needs to make the Red Devils squad his own.
So in what is expected to be a busy summer of business for United here are five players that are likely to be sold and five that could be bought.
Players out
Nemanja Vidic
May as well start with the captain as it’s already been confirmed that the Serbian will be leaving Old Trafford at the end of the campaign and joining Inter Milan.
As good as the skipper has been for the English champions over the years, at 32-years-old and with a tendency towards injury, losing Vidic may not be such a bad thing.
