Red Devils will rekindle interest in Athletic Bilbao’s Ander Herrera in January.
Manchester United will up make a fresh move for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera in January, according to The Guardian.
United failed in a bid for the Spaniard in the summer but boss David Moyes hopes to lure the 24-year-old to Old Trafford for less than his £29.9m release clause next month.
The Scot is desperate to boost his creativity in his midfield after watching United out-passed by former club Everton in Wednesday’s humiliating 1-0 defeat at the Theatre of Dreams.
Bilbao are determined not to lower their asking price for Herrera, in part due to their policy of only fielding Basque players, and rejected United’s August deadline day bid for the versatile attacking midfielder.
To add insult to injury, United were left embarrassed after three Spanish lawyers, claiming to represent the English champions, were seen entering Spanish league offices. United denied they had employed the trio.
