The Scot worked with the Portuguese forward in their time together at Old Trafford, and could prove key in luring the 30-year-old back to the club this summer.
Ronaldo is thought to be unsettled at Real Madrid at the moment, and is considering his future after this week’s 4-3 defeat to Schalke at the Bernabeu, where Ferguson was also in attendance.
The two are said to have met for dinner after the game, with Ferguson hoping to persuade Ronaldo to make the return to United.
