Ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash, here’s how we think a Manchester United and Arsenal combined XI would line-up!
GK: David de Gea
There’s no doubt Wojciech Szczesny is improving but De Gea can make saves nowhere else in the Premier League can and is constantly improving.
RB: Bacary Sagna
The Frenchman has been back to his superb best this season and gets the nod over Rafael, who is superb going forward but remains susceptible defensively.
CB: Per Mertesacker
After being derided upon arrival in the Premier League, the German is showing his class and was imperious as Arsenal won in Dortmund. Better than anyone United have at present.
CB: Laurent Koscielny
See above. Along with Mertesacker, Koscielny has helped Arsenal shed their reputation as defensively poor. There are few better man-markers in the Premier League.
LB: Patrice Evra
Kieran Gibbs was close to making it an all-Arsenal back four but Evra just pips the Englishman to the post. The France international is no spring chicken but has shone so far this season, both going forward and at the back.
