David Moyes’ United side are desperate to pick up a rare win at Old Trafford, following two consecutive home defeats to bitter rivals.
They lost 0-3 to Manchester City on Tuesday evening, and 0-3 to Liverpool the previous weekend, with many fans declaring that the manager’s time in charge is nearing its end.
If anything though, Aston Villa are just as inconsistent. Despite beating league leaders Chelsea two weekends ago, they were pummelled by Stoke 1-4 at Villa Park last weekend. They’ve performed well against the big sides this season though, beating Arsenal, Manchester City and drawing with Liverpool already.
Nemanja Vidic should return for United, while Ryan Giggs could be given a start in midfield following Marouane Fellaini’s horror show against City.
For Villa, Karim El Ahmadi is struggling to overcome a thigh strain suffered against Stoke.
