Evans and Jones likely to start with Ferdinand and Vidic still not fully fit…
Team news:
Following United’s disappointing draw at home to Southampton at the weekend, David Moyes will desperate to pick up the three points this evening against the travelling Spanish opposition.
Stalwart centre-halves Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic are both doubts with injuries, meaning Jonny Evand and Phil Jones are expected to come in and start in defence. Either side of them, first-choice fullbacks Rafael and Patrice Evra should start, and both will hope to get up their flank and overlap their winger.
Tom Cleverley is still out injured, so in midfield, Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini should provide the platform from which United’s plethora of attackers will be expected to create.
Ahead of them, Danny Welbeck missed United’s last training session, and prodigal young winger Adnan Januzaj should make his first Champions League start from the left.
Antonio Valencia will continue from the right, with world-class duo Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie dovetailing in a potentially lethal attack.
