In one of the picks of the prestigious FA Cup Third Round, Premier League champions Manchester United host Swansea City at Old Trafford.
Yet with such a busy fixture list over the festive period there is every chance that both sides will make several changes from their last league outing.
Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert caused controversy by suggesting top flight bosses could ‘do without’ the FA Cup, but Swans head coach Michael Laudrup insists that is not the case in south Wales.
That being said, regular first team stars Jonjo Shelvey, Ben Davies, Wilfried Bony and captain Ashley Williams are likely to be rested.
After winning the League Cup during Laudrup’s first year in charge last season, doing well in this competition will help lift confidence in Swansea even higher.
United on the other hand have slumped once more after an improved run, suffering a New Year’s Day home defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur – their fourth loss at the Theatre of Dreams in the league this term.
For the Red Devils Wayne Rooney, Ashley Young and Robin Van Persie are all likely to be sidelined for this tie with slight knocks, with Michael Carrick, Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic are also set to miss out.
