Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur start 2014 locked on 34 points, three points shy of the Premier League top four.
Both will be relatively pleased to still be in contention for the Champions League places after turbulent starts to the season, in which United have struggled to adjust to new manager David Moyes’ methods and Spurs have replaced their boss with rookie Tim Sherwood.
Moyes will hope to have Wayne Rooney back after the England striker missed the win at Norwich with a grin injury, while Robin van Persie could also feature after a thigh strain.
Danny Welbeck should retain his place though and will be hoping to continue his good run of form against Sherwood side’s.
Spurs have whole host of injury worries and Paulinho, impressive against Stoke, could miss out after limping off against the Potters.
Younes Kaboul, Jan Vertonghen, Andros Townsned and Sandro remain out, while Danny Rose and Jermain Defoe are doubts.
