Having already signed Daley Blind from Ajax this summer, van Gaal looks set to bring in two more familiar faces this winter as he continues to strengthen his squad in both defence and midfield.
According to recent speculation, the two players are as follows:
1) Kevin Strootman (AS Roma)
Long linked with a move to United – and recently Chelsea – AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman may finally make his way to Old Trafford this January if the Red Devils have their way. Interest in another top midfield target, Juventus’ Arturo Vidal, seems to have cooled due to concerns over his fitness.
