The Portuguese international is in fine form for Real this season, despite recent speculation that he is unhappy at the club and looking to leave at the end of the season.
Widely regarded as one of the best players in the world, Ronaldo would no doubt be an expensive signing, with huge wage demands as well as an astronomical transfer fee.
The likes of Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly pulled out of this deal as he would be too expensive, and United will now have to consider if they can afford this ambitious signing.
