Jesse Lindgard wants to stay at Birmingham City all season…
Manchester United wonderkid Jesse Lindgard wants to extend his one month loan deal at Birmingham City, after he bagged four goals on a scintillating debut for the Championship club, he told reporters after game.
The 20-year-old enjoyed an impressive pre-season with United, but was sent on loan to Birmingham to get the first-team football his talent deserves.
On his debut, the young wing-forward did not disappoint, scoring all four of his new club’s goals in the 4-1 victory at home to Sheffield Wednesday.
“It’s a dream come true,” said a slightly shell-shocked Lindgard.
“To get four goals and three points on my debut is massive.”
“I had a lot of pressure on my shoulders but as soon as the first goal went in I got more confident. You can’t beat first-team football, so hopefully they will let me stay for the season.”
Lindgard is only due to stay at the Blues for one month, but with the likes of Ashley Young, Wilfried Zaha, Shinji Kagawa, Antonio Valencia and Nani blocking his path to first-team football at Old Trafford, he is understandably keen to prolong his St. Andrews stay.
After his four goals on debut, the club would obviously be happy to have him for longer too, and it is unlikely United boss David Moyes will stand in the way of an extension.
