Englishman’s future in the north west is still very much open to debate.
Supporters of Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain want unsettled Manchester United front man Wayne Rooney to partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic in attack at the Parc des Princes next season, according to reports in the Sunday Mirror.
French newspaper Le Parisien has just conducted a week-long poll asking fans of the mega-rich Ligue 1 outfit just which attacker they would select to team up with the giant Sweden international in the French capital in the new campaign.
And the name of the 27-year-old England international came out on top ahead of the likes of Napoli attacker Edinson Cavani, Liverpool forward Luis Suarez and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.
Rooney has been the subject of intense speculation of late linking the player with a big-money move away from Old Trafford this summer after it had been revealed the player had asked for a transfer away from the north west this summer.
However whether Rooney, who netted just 16 goals in 36 matches in all competitions for the Premier League champions last season, would be willing to move to Paris is another matter entirely.
