Manly Sea Eagles news
Newcastle Knights back-rower Beau Scott released to Parramatta Eels on ‘compassionate grounds’
Back at their traditional home of Brookvale Oval, Manly laid the platform for their victory with a great first half. The game was almost over at half-time at 18-0.
Winger Jorge Taufau got the Sea Eagles’ first four-pointer.
A crucial mistake from Akila Uate let Brett Stewart in for Manly’s second.
Then Ligi Sau went over easily and it was danger signs for Newcastle.
In the second half the Knights struck first, James McManus diving over.
But the visitors couldn’t build on that try. Stewart was in soon for a double.
And then Daly Cherry-Evans took Manly’s haul to 30.
Tariq Sims got a late try for Newcastle but it was too late, the Sea Eagles already had the game wrapped up.
