Manly Sea Eagles star Anthony Watmough has reportedly agreed to join the Parramatta Eels on a three-year deal beginning in 2016.
The Sydney Morning Herald report Watmough has agreed to terms with the Eels in a move that would keep him at the club until the end of the 2018 season.
Watmough is contracted to the Sea Eagles for next season but it is understood the forward is keen to leave the club as soon as possible – meaning Manly could be prepared to let him join the Eels in 2015.
The 30-year-old is reportedly still angered over the Sea Eagles’ decision to not offer Glenn Stewart a new deal, which has consequently seen him sign a deal with the South Sydney Rabbitohs for next season.
Watmough has a close relationship with Eels coach Brad Arthur during their time together at Manly.
The news is another massive blow to the Sea Eagles ahead of their qualifying final against the South Sydney Rabbitohs on Friday, with the club crippled by a heavy injury toll and a poor run of form that has seen them lose three of their encounters.
