Manly Sea Eagles star forward Anthony Watmough looks likely to be granted an immediate release from the club this week, opening the door for a move to the Parramatta Eels.
The Daily Telegraph report Manly officials are let Watmough leave a year before the end of his contract, with an official announcement to be made at the end of the week.
Speculation has intensified about player unrest at the Sea Eagles, with several senior players believed to be angry with the club’s decision not the renew the contract of Glenn Stewart, who has consequently joined the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Parramatta have already signalled its intentions to bring Watmough to the club, and it now appears likely that the Eels will get their wish by the end of the week.
