While Arsenal have thus far been quiet in the summer market – bar the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea – Arsene Wenger, the Gunners manager, has hinted that he is still on the hunt for new talent to add to his senior squad.
The Frenchman has said that he is looking only for ‘exceptional’ players – and reports have been pointing towards Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus as the man topping his transfer wish list.
Yesterday it was said that Arsenal were prepared to break their club record by bidding £48m for Reus; however, a new update on his BVB future may have put to bed the speculation.
Dortmund’s director of communication, Sascha Fligge, has said that there is absolutely no chance that the 26-year-old will leave the Westfalenstadion this summer:
“Marco Reus will not leave Borussia Dortmund this summer,” as quoted by the Mirror.
“That’s a 100 percent certainty.”
