Chelsea flop Marko Marin’s disappointing spell at Stamford Bridge looks to be coming to an end, with the Daily Star reporting that the winger is edging ever close to a return to the Bundesliga with either Eintracht Frankfurt or Vfl Wolfsburg.
The 25 year-old, who has picked up 16 caps for Germany but was born in Bosnia, joined the Blues from Werder Bremen in 2006 but made just 6 Premier League appearances for the club before he departed on a season-long with La Liga club Sevilla twelve months ago.
Despite a successful season for Unai Emery’s club, in which they lifted the Europa League trophy, Marin failed to establish himself as a key part of the team and it now looks as though a move back to the Bundesliga is on the cards for a player looking to revitalise his flagging career.
Eintract Frankfurt are reported as leading the chase for Marin as they look to improve on a poor campaign that saw them flirt with relegation and crash out of the Europa League against FC Porto.
Wolfsburg have also been mentioned as potential suitors, however, with the ambitious Bundesliga club looking to follow up their capture of Kevin de Bruyne from the Blues by bagging another Chelsea attacking midfielder.
