Arsenal are closing in on making Mario Balotelli their third summer signing, with the Daily Mirror reporting that the Gunners have agreed a fee with AC Milan, as well as personal terms with the player.
Balotelli has been regularly linked with a move away from the San Siro this summer, after a relatively disappointing season saw him score 14 league goals, while Milan missed out on a place in either the Champions League or the Europa League.
The Italian striker has reportedly been the subject of a £15.8m move. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that Balotelli is the man who can not only challenge Olivier Giroud for a starting sport, but also be the man who can work with him in the direct front line.
Meanwhile, the Daily Express, who link Balotelli with a move to Liverpool, believe that the possibility of luring Balotelli back to the Premier League has increased with Milan chasing PSG striker Ezequiel Lavezzi.
However, both clubs could yet be put off by the striker’s controversial history, with the 23-year-old having only continued to enhance his reputation as a troublemaker since his move from Manchester City.
