Liverpool were rocked this week by star defender Martin Skrtel rejecting the club’s offer of new contract.
The 30-year-old Slovakian crusher, who has one year left on his current contract, snubbed a pay-as-you-play deal, branding it unacceptable.

If anyone deserves a top new deal its #Skrtel, been 1 of our top players for years, our only good defender & gives it everything every game!

Milner nearly 30 & Skrtel 30 One gets offered 150k per week the other pay as you play FSG summed up in a tweet. Clueless
— James Milner (@Brodinho) June 3, 2015
Crying about Milner, at least it’s not trying to justify how we treated Skrtel. The rest of you spineless cunts can unfollow too.

Perhaps we should insert performance related pay clause into Skrtel’s contract for every minute he spends outside the six-yard box.

Our contract negotiations are embarrassing. Skrtel says the one he was offered was more suitable for ‘older players with health issues’

Maybe it’s just me who thinks we could improve on Skrtel. Not sure saying “he’s our best defender” is really valid, we can improve on him.

Doesn’t surprise me this Skrtel situation. We offered Henderson £80k, he asked for £100k, we said No. Weeks later then gave him £120k! #LFC

If we lose Skrtel then we have lost so many players that love Liverpool. Agger, Reina, Gerrard. All the leaders are just going.
