Spaniard prepared for a summer of change
Everton boss Roberto Martinez has high hopes of retaining at least one of his key players this summer.
New Manchester United David Moyes is rumoured to be swooping for two of his old players.
Both Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellani are targets of Manchester United, but the former Wigan boss feels that he will lose the curly haired attacker while the 28-year-old defender will remain at Goodison.
A source close to Martinez said to Goal.com “Roberto is preparing to lose Fellaini next season but he thinks the team will be ready for it,” a source close to Martinez told Goal. “Baines is a slightly different matter as United don’t look like offering the money Everton want and the player won’t kick up a fuss.”
According to Goal.com Fellani is keen on Old Trafford, but any move now will be complicated by the fact that the Belgians buy-out clause expired at the end of last month.
It is understood that Martinez already has several possible options should the Belgian decide to leave.
